Our trip to Wells

Class 1 had a wonderful day at Wells next the sea last week.

We met the lifeboat coxswain Allen Frary, who told us all about the two lifeboats at Wells. He also told us about the new Wells lifeboat that the RNLI is now raising money for.

We had our lunch on the beach just outside the lifeboat house.

,

This is the offshore lifeboat. It was much bigger than we thought it would be.

This is the inshore lifeboat. Mr Frary told us that it was really hard work to crew this boat.

We tried on the crew life jackets.

And Mrs Sergeant and Mrs Verrell had a race to see if they could get the crew clothes on in record time. (They couldn't).

Thank you to the Wells lifeboat and to everyone who made this trip possible.
